Anything But Dull

Updated: Jun 16, 2020

The sun may have disappeared [for now]- but that doesn't mean that our community is anything but dull. Check out whats been going on in the last week:

Scarecrow Competition Beginning to Heat Up

The competition is definitely heating up [unlike the weather recently], and some of the entries have been fantastic to see around. To get involved just take a photo of your display and send it to the Tain Gala via Messenger on their Facebook Page. More details are available on: www.facebook.com/TainGalaAssociation/

Become Part of The Task Force

The volunteers from Tain Task Force have been busy planting bursts of colour around the town, but they are in need of more assistance to continue serving the community. Includes: assisting with arrival of plants, weeding, getting baskets ready etc. Contact Trisha on trishatorrance 71@gmail.com & on mobile 07979680024 to get involved.

Keeping in Touch Hub

Run from Tain Royal Academy to support well-being for vulnerable young people with additional needs. Timing are from 1pm to 3pm. Contact the Hub on info@tainddtrust.com for further details.

Picture Perfect

In collaboration with local schools, letters and pictures have been delivered to vulnerable residents as part of Meals on Wheels.

Supporting Local Community

With Fathers Day coming up- what better way to celebrate loved ones all while supporting your local community? Visit lovelocaltaindistrict.co.uk/ to find more local products, and to find that perfect gift for someone special. If you would like your business to be featured then get in touch – email info@ tainddtrust.com.

Highland Council Update

Waste and Recycling Centres across the Highlands have now been reopened. Currently 14 centres operating including: Alness, Brora, Dingwall, Inverness & Tain. Guidance from Highland Council clearly states that one person can leave each car, with the 2-metre social distancing rule followed at all times [the sites are for cars only- no trailers or vans are allowed as part of this phase]. Visit www.highland.gov.uk/ for further details.

Final Thoughts

If you are interested in assisting the Hub and can spare a few hours a week, email us on: info@tainddtrust.com. You can make a donation via Paypal or bank transfer. Email us at info@tainddtrust.com for details.
