Coming Together For The Community!

Thank you for your support at our first Community Market of 2020! We love supporting local businesses- plus it was great to see so many new and familiar faces. Part of our initiative is to provide support to local businesses & you can get involved to support your community at lovelocaltaindistrict.co.uk/.


Food Delivery Options

If you don't fancy cooking- we have found some local options to get food delivered to your door: Munros Fruit and Veg, Platform 1864, StoreHouse, and Bogrow Farm.

Restaurants & other organisations serving food can now sign up to a new government initiative aimed at protecting jobs in the hospitality industry. You can enjoy a 50% discount between Monday and Wednesday until 31st August 2020 [conditions apply- please check with restaurant before booking]. The local businesses who have signed up include: Greens Restaurant, Platform 1864, Mansfield Castle Hotel, Balintore InnMorangie Hotel, Shandwick Inn, Castle Hotel, Italian Touch,Oyster Catcher, Carnegie Cafe, & Seaboard Memorial Hall. Open 4 Business!

We have delayed re-opening just make sure we have followed safety protocol as per Government guidelines. But from 17th August, we will be opening the Hub back from 9am until 5pm Monday to Friday. printing, copying, and postal redirection- plus our Community Trust Fund is still accepting applications [www.tainddtrust. com/covid-19].

We've noticed that community members are still enquiring about where to find masks. Just reminding you that we have a wide selection of #masks available free at the #Hub made by Karen Livingston [aka Maskateers]. Just pop down to the Community Hub [opposite YMCA]- grab your masks.


Whats On?

  • Tarbat Discovery Centre: The Centre is open for pre-booked visits- but visits are limited to one hour for up to 6 people. Book a visit at www.tarbat-discovery.co.uk/booking-form or call 01862 871351.

  • Seaboard Memorial Hall: This will be open on Tuesday 18th August at 10am- please call on 01862 832888 to book a table.

  • Glenmorangie: The Distillery Visitor Centre will be closed until 31st August 2020- see www.glenmorangie.com/en-int/experiences or 01862 892477 for further information.

  • Portmahomack Golf Club: The golf club has re-opened- so catch the sun and book a tee time at portmahomackgolfclub.com/ or 01862 871222.


Thinking Local First!

We have secured funding from the Scottish Towns Partnership Recovery & Resilience Fund- to be used for creating an ‘Open for Business’ Map. In line with the national 'Love Local' campaign- our goals are to create a buzz around 'thinking local' before shopping considering online or through other means.

The Social Entrepreneurs Fund is a Government-funded programme that supports individuals to test, start & grow social enterprise ideas [www.firstport.org.uk/]. In addition, adventure activities are expected to grow in popularity- so The Let’s Grow Adventure Tourism programme brings businesses together [www.hie.co.uk].
