Bringing The Sunshine Back To Our Community

Together with volunteers, the team have been working tirelessly to help our support those in need. Below are is a summary of news and activities happening in our community:


School Care Packs: Bringing The Sunshine Back

Over the past few days, the team have been working tirelessly to create and dispatch almost 1000 activity packs for primary and nursery school children in our community aged 3 and up to P7. Thanks for the support from Tain ASG, Stepping Stones and Ankerville Nurseries [Thank you so much for all the beautiful feedback!].


Call Out For Volunteers

Our initiative with Greens Restaurant has been successful in providing much needed support to those who are isolated and vulnerable. With the support of our volunteers we are now delivering to 185 people across Tain, Edderton, Inver, Newton, Geanies and Portmahomack. Thank you to all those who have helped us with our community activities- we are so grateful for your assistance. But as the COVID-19 restrictions are being eased- some of our volunteers are going back to work. Love Local: New eCommerce Site To Support Our Community Businesses

In response to COVID-19 epidemic - we have developed an on-line market place to help support local businesses [lovelocaltaindistrict.co.uk/]. This platform gives you a chance to help support your local community, where you can either buy a voucher or purchase products via our on-line market place. If you would like your business to be featured then please get in touch – email info@tainddtrust.com.


Community Grant Fund: Still Available For Applications

Together with Glenmorangie, the Tain & District Development Trust have set up a programme to provide grants of up to £500 for initiatives in Ward 7. Those applying need to show that their project meets an urgent community need, set up due to COVID-19, and that the project carries no financial benefits. Scarecrow Competition: Tain Gala

For the whole month of June- create and display a Scarecrow or Flowerpot person in your garden. Just take a photo of your display and send it to the Tain Gala via Messenger on their Facebook Page. More details are available on: www.facebook.com/TainGalaAssociation/
